Introduction was made to the connotation and characteristics of smart grid, as well as the development situation of smart grid at home and abroad. This paper expatiated on the major issues China faced in the process of smart grid development with Chinese characteristics and gave speciifc strategies on these issues. The key of smart grid construction included magnanimity data analysis and process technology, scheduling and control technology of smart grid, information safety problem of smart grid and coordination and self-adaptive control. According to the situation in China, the power transmission network, especially the ultra high voltage transmis-sion network, should be the important development trend of China smart grid.
