骨质疏松是以成骨不足、骨量减少为特征的全身代谢性骨病，常见于老年人。诱发骨质疏松的因素有很多，大家公认的原因是钙的缺乏以及维生素D的不足。骨质疏松症给患者生活带来极大不便和痛若，治疗收效很慢，一旦骨折又可危及生命。目前，西医并无令人满意的治疗方法，而中医注重整体，治养并重，在治疗骨质疏松方面显示出了更大的优势。我们对近年来中药在防治骨质疏松方面的研究进展进行归纳。

Osteoporosis , a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass and microstructure deterioration of bone tissue , af-fects hundreds and millions of old men worldwide .In spite of a lot of factors causing osteoporosis , Vitamin D deficiency and calcium in-sufficiency is widely acknowledged .Osteoporosis brings great inconvenience and pain to the lives of patients .The efficiency of treatment is low and threatens life upon bone fracture .There is no satisfactory treatment yet with western medicine , but traditional Chinese medi-cine and pharmacy therapy is widely concerned as its predominance over comprehensive action resulting since it takes the whole body into consideration and has shown great advantages over treating osteoporosis .In this paper, the author reviews the progresses of study on the effects of traditional Chinese medicine in treating osteoporosis in recently years .
