Due to the special geological structures and the development of the coal, the coalbed methane(CBM) reservoir shows “three lows” properties, which are the low gas saturation, low permeability and low pressure. In this paper, we describe the storage form of the CBM and its reservoir characteristics, and also state the extraction of the CBM, the technology of well completion and the fracturing techniques used to increase the CBM recovery. Especially, we focus on more details of the various methods used in the well completion to the CBM and the fracturing designs and different techniques.
