One important direction of current materials research work is how to apply microwave sintering technology to the preparation of metal materials. The history, basic theories, characteristics, current situation of microwave sintering in the preparation of metal materials were simply introduced in this paper. Problems that may arise during microwave sintering metal materials were analyzed. And the trend of microwave sintering in the preparation of metal materials was estimated.
