Glass fiber reinforcements are mainstreaming material for fiber reinforced plastics ( FRP) currently. FRP has strong structural characteristics. There is close relationship between the material properties and structure and the processing technologies. The author discusses here the developments of five types of glass fiber reinforcements with good potential, including veils, reinforcements for thermoplastics, warp-knitted fabrics, prepregs and per-forms, with intent to communicate with the glass fiber composites industry and promote the joint development of up-stream and downstream industries.
