The scattering matrix method (SMM)is introduced to solve the plane wave incident obliquely to the inhomo-geneous unmagnetized plasma. Propagation characteristics of the terahertz signal in the plasma sheath are analyzed by the SMM method. The reflection,transmission and group delay are calculated too. The results show that high-pass characteristic of the sheath is remarkable for low collision frequency. With the increase of collision frequency,the change of the reflection and transmission coefficient of the sheath with frequency is slow. Generally,increasing the incident wave frequency will help the transmission of electromagnetic waves.
