In this paper, the 3D geological modeling process for the dam site area of Sanhekou Reservoir for water diversion project from Hangjiang River to Weihe River is taken as an example.Through the curve model of the geological object is built by GOCAD and the final 3D geological model is fulfilled by CATIA, the combination of GOCAD and CATIA allows both GOCAD and CATIA to fully play their ad-vantages .
