In America, the course syllabus is considered as the promise of teaching and the"""contract" between students and teachers. This article introduces the concept, element and feature of syllabus of American universities. Based on that, the article analyzes the existed problems in the compiling, usage and management of course syllabus in China, and proposes the respective solutions.
