“3S”技术带来了巨大的社会效益和经济效益，已受到世界各国的高度重视和社会公众的广泛关注。现代地理学是地理学和现代科技结合的最新阶段，同样也需要先进的“3S”技术的支持。文中以网络GIS与远程教育、基于LBS的位置共享与“外地理实习、虚拟现实与现实教学等例子说明了“3S”在现代地理教学的创新性工作。引入该技术也将会提高课堂教学效率降低教学成本，适应现代地理学的发展，增强学生的理解能力。

"3S" technology has drawn much attention of coun-tries and the public because of tremendous social and econom-ic benefits. Modern geography is the latest stage of geography combined with modern technology, which is deepened on ad-vanced "3S" technology. This paper illustrated innovative work by introducing"3S"into modern geography teaching. The work includes web GIS in remote education, LBS in geography prac-tice, virtual reality in geography teaching. The "3S" technology will help to improve teaching efficiency, reduce the teaching cost, adapt to modern geography, and enhance students' com-prehension.
