《新娘来到黄天镇》两条线索并行不悖，而后相交于故事的高潮处。情节跌宕起伏，前有伏笔，后有高潮，还有高潮下的出人意料的结局。时间方面以暂停和并列时序为主要特征；人物心理变化刻画得相当详尽，以人物的思想和行动变化展现时代变化对小镇人们的精神和心理的影响；各式人物多而不乱，主次分明；多样化的视角使小说悬念迭起，在叙事策略上不输于宏幅巨篇。这些叙事策略共同服务于小说的主旨：环境变化对单纯的小镇人们的影响，新世界代替旧世界的必然性和对旧世界美好时光一去不复返的缅怀。

Bride Comes to Yellow Sky has two narrative lines parallel, which cross each other on the climax of the story. The spot has ups and downs, with foreshadowing inn the first place and then climax as well as a surprising end. As for time, pause and parallel time order is its main features. A detailed description of the characters’ mentality, the change of minds and actions of the characters, all show how the change of time has its influence on the characters’ mentality and emotion. Various kinds of characters are of main and minor parts in place. Different angles of view offer the story great suspense, thus no less than any great stories as far as narrative strategies are concerned, under which are the core of the story:how the change of surroundings affect the na?ve people in a small town and missing the passing of good old days when it is unavoidable for the new world to replace the old one.
