Summary was made on the research and application status of polymer lubrication from three aspects, i.e. the mechanism of polymer friction lubrication, the lubrication tech-nology of polymer film in the sheet forming and tribology research of polymer lubrication material, and on lubrication characteristics of polymer lubricant as well. The existing prob-lem of high strength steel plate in drawing forming was stated and it indicated that good forming performance can be obtained by using polymer film lubrication in the forming of high strength steel plate. The existing problem and development trend of polymer film lubri-cation were pointed out.
