Cohesion refers to the relations of meaning that exist within the text, and also defines it as a text. According to Holli-day, discoursal/textual cohesiveness can be realized by employing various cohesive devices: conjunction, ellipsis, lexical colloca-tion, lexical repetition, reference, substitution, etc. This paper attempts to analyze the differences between Autumn in Peiping and its English version from grammatical and lexical aspects.
