The ecological literary criticism is a kind of literary criticism theory which aims to specify the relations of literature, na-ture and culture. This paper takes Whitman’s Leaves of Grass as an example, from the perspective of ecological criticism, inter-preting ecological ideas conveyed by Whitman’s poems so as to inspire us to look at our position in the nature, protect the natu-ral environment, and finally construct a vibrant ecosystem with everything.
