二战结束之后，日台关系的国家化倾向一直存在，但在不同的历史时期，表现形式和发展程度有所不同。在中日建交之前，开创了日台关系国家化的先河。中日建交后，尽管中日建交公报重新确定了“一个中国”的原则，但是“台湾地位未定论”并未明确地从日本官方语言中消失。日台关系依然存在某种国家间关系的特征。近年来，日本鼓励台湾加入WHO，推动日台签署自由贸易协定“FTA”的行为，都代表了日本对日台关系国家化的某种企图。中国在这一问题上的坚定立场是不变的，任何时候都要堵塞日台关系跨入国家化或准国家化的任何企图。

After the Second World War,the relationship between japan and Taiwan has shown the trend of mov-ing toward state-to-state relationship. While under different historical phases,it shows different forms and degrees. Before the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and japan,the relationship between japan and Taiwan has shown characters of state-to-state relationship. After the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and japan,although the Sino-japan communiqué reiterated the“One China”principle,such phrases like“the uncertainty of the status of Taiwan”still existed in the official document in japan. Some features embedded in state-to-state relationship could also be found in the relationship between japan and Taiwan. In recent years, japan encouraged Taiwan to enter WTO,and pushed forward the signing of FTA between japan and Taiwan,and all these have shown that japan intended to upgrade the relationship between japan and Taiwan into national lev-el. China has taken a firm stand on this issue,that is,to eliminate any attempt of turning the relationship between japan and Taiwan into or to be a state-to-state relationship at any time.
