如何让大学英语选修课程的设置达到预期的目标和效果是本文思考的问题，笔者认为利用多元智能系统理论指导大学英语选修课程的设置，结合社会的需求，鼓励学生依据自己的性格特点，选择合适的选修课，或许能取得意想不到的效果。

In this thesis,the author tries to tell how to make college English selective courses more effective and more practical. The author thinks that if we apply Howard Gardner’ Multiple Intelligences theory in the construction of college English selective courses, and take the social practical need and students’ different characters into consideration, then guide students choosing appropriate selective course according their own character, we may get unexpected effect.
