In order to systematically research fire prevention and extinguishment by liquid carbon hydroxide,the physicochemical property of carbon dioxide was introduced and its fire ex-tinguishing mechanism was analyzed.By comparison with fire prevention and extinguishment by nitrogen,the advantages of fire prevention and extinguishment by carbon dioxide were described. The computational formula of liquid carbon dioxide inj ection volume was deduced,and the inj ec-tion technique and inj ection position were discussed.The practice of fire control in goaf verified the correction of inj ection technological parameters.So the relative intact theory of fire prevention and extinguishment by liquid carbon dioxide was formed.
