The foundation is improved using electro-osmotic treatment for ultra soft soil after using vacuum preloading. The pa-per analyzes energy consumption of electro-osmotic treatment according to the test results and proves that electro-osmotic treat-ment of ultra-soft soil can make the soil strength increases obviously to achieve the desired effect beyond vacuum preloading by reinforcement effect detection.
