智能仪表逐渐成为设备选用的基本要求，智能功能的运用需要仪表维护单位针对每台仪表逐一开发调试。PRM（横河机电公司开发的智能仪表管理系统）是一个集中管理智能仪表的计算机网络平台。通过这个平台，实时监视智能仪表的运行状态，分析仪表发出的预警信息，估算仪表的维持时间，做出预知维修计划，是实现主动维护的物质基础。独山子石化作为西部开发的标志性工程，几年来一直以创建国际一流石化基地为目标，从仪表专业的技术进步可以显示出独山子取得了成就。围绕PRM开展的仪表管理应用为各行各业挖掘智能仪表的潜力提供了值得借鉴的经验。
