This paper elaborates the design basis, system composition, system design, system arrangement and other major design elements of the drilling system for deepwater drilling vessels;puts forward the major drilling system design issues and their solutions based on engineering experience and the regulatory requirements of classification societies;and analyzes the features and parameters of the drilling system for the object vessel of a technological funding project, to provide some guidance and reference for industrial deepwater drilling platform vessel projects.
