The function of local application-oriented undergradu-ate universities is to cultivate application-oriented talents needed by local places, while practice teaching is the key to realize the goal of application-oriented talent cultivation. The practice teaching of history major in local application-oriented under-graduate universities can be implemented through the practice link in theoretical courses, education practice, semester thesis, graduation thesis, and field survey. To insure the effectiveness of practice teaching, teaching staff construction, practice base con-struction and teaching system construction should be further en-hanced.
