近年来先后有报道称泰山周边县市发现所谓祭祀孙悟空的院、寺、庙等达七处之多，但是都在《西游记》成书之后，直接由于《西游记》的影响，而不能作为《西游记》成书与泰山关系的证明。但是，此一风俗作为《西游记》与泰山文化关系的一部分，其源头却是早在《西游记》成书之前泰山与“西游”故事的“联姻”，是泰山文化背景下“西游”故事成书为《西游记》后的一个延展。清代泰山周边孙悟空崇祀之俗的揭蔽，使泰山文化在这一方面与福建、浙江等多省份自古及今都有的齐天大圣信仰之俗有了呼应的联系。从而，这一发现也成为全国性“孙悟空崇祀”或曰“齐天大圣信仰”研究的一个部分，是“泰山学”中一个涉及古代文学、宗教、民俗等多学科研究的新课题，将进一步推动中国古代文学研究引入“考古”或曰“田野调查”方法的实践。

It is reported that seven temples and monasteries for the worship of Sun Wukong( Monkey King)have been discovered in the surrounding counties and towns of Mount Tai for the past few years. But none of them was built after the appearance of THE PilgrimagE to tHE WEst in book form,and cannot bear out the causality between Mount Tai culture and the book. However,as part of the relationship be-tween Mount Tai culture and the book,this custom derives its origin from the“marriage”of Mount Tai and the stories about the“west journey”before the birth of the book,and is therefore an aftermath of the coming into being of the book. The custom of worshiping Sun Wukong in the vicinity of Mount Tai during the Qing Dynasty brought Mount Tai culture interrelated to the custom of the belief in the Great Sage E-qual of Heaven cherished in Fujian,Zhejiang and other provinces from ancient time till now. This has become part of the studies of the nation-wide“Sun Wukong worshiping”or“belief in the Great Sage E-qual of Heaven”,namely a new subject of Mount Tai studies of a multiple disciplinary research involving ancient literature,religion,and so on. And it will further promote the introduction of the practice of“field work”into the researches of ancient Chinese literature.
