毛泽东一生痛恨铺张浪费，并在实践中形成了内涵丰富的反浪费思想。一是对浪费的表现、危害及产生的根源作了深刻阐述，指出不能只看到物资浪费，还要关注时间、人力、物力的浪费；浪费既有经济危害又有严重的政治危害，是事关亡党亡国的大事，与贪污同样可怕，是破坏党群关系的政治问题；浪费的根本原因是作风问题。二是进行了丰富的实践探索，创造了加强思政教育、严格惩处、开展群众运动和整党整风、发挥领导干部带头作用等反对浪费的方法措施，并取得了实效。这些启示我们，当前扫除享乐之义和奢靡之风，加强反腐倡廉教育，建设节约型社会，应当旗帜鲜明、持之以恒、综合治理、注重制度反浪费。

Mao Zedong utterly abhorred extravagance and waste through his entire life,and formed in practice his anti-waste thought of enriched connotations. On the one hand,he vividly depicted the manifestations,harms and origins of waste,arguing that we should not only look in the waste of materials,but also pay attention to the waste of time,labor and resources;that waste has not only economic harms,but also political harms,being a big prob-lem that might lead to the collapse of the Party and the state,and being a political problem that might damage the relationship between the Party and the mass,as terrible as corruption;and that the radical cause of waste lies in the working style. On the other hand,he performed practical explorations in fighting waste,and created a se-ries of anti-waste measures such as strengthening ideological and political education,rigorous punishment,mass movement,party consolidation and rectification,playing the model role of leading cadres,etc. ,which achieved substantial effectiveness. All these tell us that,to get rid of hedonism and extravagance,strengthen the anti-cor-ruption education and build a saving society,we should take a clear-cut stand,perform the control of wasting in a persistent and comprehensive way,and fight waste by institution building.
