Channel erosion and siltation is a hot spot in many key scientific researches and hydropower projects, and how to visually express its variation result gradually becomes the common concerns of the researchers. Combing the DEM analysis of channel erosion and siltation with CAD, and incorporating multiple GIS application systems, an application module for channel e-rosion and siltation analysis is developed. From the treatment method and analysis process of the module, the visual realization of channel erosion and siltation in CAD are introduced. Numerous production practices show that, the application module developed by DEM algorithms is proven to be simple, effective, intuitive and practical, which is helpful to river evolution analysis and channel regulation works.
