Multi-level intake facilities are expected to alleviate the impact of low-temperature water released from a hydro-power station on the eco-environment of downstream river channel, including agricultural irrigation, fish breeding. Tingzikou Hydropower Station is the first case of applying the multi-level intake facilities on dam in China. The paper presents a research on several technical issues including structural layout of multi-level intake, operation scheme of stop-log gate, and water tem-perature distribution of reservoir and temperature variation process of released water. Moreover, the design process is also elabo-rated.
