随着科技的发展，网络越来越多地渗透到了人们的日常生活中来，网络流行语也越来越多地影响着人们的日常生活，近日来，受社会事件的影响，“元芳体”这一流行语频频出现在各网络各处。针对网络流行语“元芳体”迅速窜红的这一现象，从模因论的角度出发，从这一网络用语的缘起、复制传播及动因几个方面进行探析，以揭示网络新词的发展传递过程，促进语言更好的运用和发展。
