According to color difference between face side and back and uneven dyeing defects, the reason for defects was analyzed in terms of the quality of raw cotton and vat filling, the selection of dyes, equipments, dye-ing process, operation and onsite management. The ways and corresponding measures of effectively reducing defects were discussed. The pretreatment and procedure, recipes, conditions of dyeing process was optimized by example. The precautions about process control were pointed out.
