Cloud computing is a very hot research topic in the IT field in recent years, and the virtualization technology is the core of cloud computing technology, VMware has become a leader in today's virtualization technology ifeld. This paper introduces the development course of computer virtualization technology, the virtualization technology principle, classiifcation, characteristics and technical advantages. The VMware service mode and the performance are discussed. By introducing the technology application of VMware server virtualization and desktop virtualization, talking about the creation method and deployment architecture of VMware virtual server;in desktop virtualization technology application, the main components operation process of VMware View are summarized and concluded.
