平阴县玫瑰发展历史悠久，早在唐朝就有翠屏山僧人种植玫瑰的传说，到明朝已有利用玫瑰花酿酒的佳话。平阴玫瑰芳香四溢，具有香气正，清香、甜香、浓香等特点，被称为“中国传统玫瑰的代表”。随着改革开放、市场经济的发展，平阴玫瑰产业不断发展壮大，但受各种因素的影响，平阴县玫瑰产业的发展还存在销售体系不健全、管理无序、生产技术落后、科技人员匮乏等问题，因此应通过建立健全销售体系、科学管理、改良技术、引进科技人才等措施，才能使平阴玫瑰产业做大做强，为平阴县带来更大的经济效益、社会效益和生态效益。
