The principle of compensation for intra-channel dispersion and nonlinearity using OPC is theoreti-cally analyzed. Then, several compensation methods are reviewed including characteristics and limitations. Fi-nally, we introduce a simple scheme of which OPC is used incorporated with pulse pre-broadening.
