动脉粥样硬化（AS）是严重危害人类健康的重大疾患，如何有效延缓甚至逆转粥样斑块的进展是目前生命科学研究的核心课题。他汀类药物不但可以有效降低患者的血脂，还具有改善内皮功能、抑制炎症反应、抗氧化应激、有效抑制/消融胆固醇结晶等作用，是目前针对粥样斑块治疗的关键药物。匹伐他汀是强效的新型降血脂药物，因其用量微小但疗效极好而被称为“超级他汀”。本文拟就匹伐他汀钙防治动脉粥样硬化的国内外研究进展作一综述。

Atherosclerosis (AS) is one of the most serious disease for human being, how to effectively delay or even reverse the progression of atherosclerotic plaques is the core object for life science research. Being used as a functional drug to reduce plasma lipid levels, Statins can also improve the endothelial function, inhibit the inflammation, resist the oxidative stress and efficiently inhibit/melt cholesterol crystals, which is the key drug treatment of atherosclerotic plaque. Pitavastatin is a new form of lipid-lowering drug which is also called“super Statin”for its high efficacy under small dosage. This review summarizes the research progress on prevention and treatment of atherosclerosis with Pitavastatin.
