妇女解放运动和新中国的建立使中国女性突破男权的束缚，拥有自己的职业角色。现代知识女性面临着走向社会还是回归家庭或者是两者兼顾等困境。这就需要政府加强在法律方面对妇女与家庭问题重视程度，需要全社会男性参与解决妇女与家庭问题，需要重视政府官员、名人婚恋观对公众意识形成的导向作用，还需要加强女性的主体意识，处理好“大我”和“小我”的关系，活出自我的风采。
