Film subtitle translation has not got enough attention and wide recognition from the academic circle. However, with the global economic and cultural development, it is self-evident that film subtitle translation is very important. First, this paper reviews the current situation of domestic and foreign researches on film subtitle translation. Second, the writer analyzes the characteristics and techniques of film subtitle translation, and holds that relevant strategies and techniques of film subtitle translation still need further research.
