退耕还林工程是西部大开发的根本和切入点，国家为此工程出台了巩固退耕还林成果的政策和措施。退耕还林后续产业发展是长久解决退耕户生计来源的首选，因此研究以秦巴山区最早实施退耕还林工程试点的安康市为样本，对退耕还林后续产业发展方向选择进行实证分析，介绍了安康市退耕还林后续产业发展的现状，以及在产业发展方向选择中存在的问题，并提出了产业发展方向选择建议。

Returning the cultivated lands to forestry is the basis and breakthrough point of the Western Development Project, therefore, the government has been issued some policies and measures for strengthening the achievements of returning the cultivated lands to forestry project. Moreover, developing the downstream industry of the returning the cultivated lands to forestry is the ifrst choice for livelihood sources of the farmers participated in the project of returning the cultivated lands to forestry, thus taking the Ankang City, where is one of the earliest experimental site of returning cultivated lands to forestry project in Qingling-Bashan Mountain Area, as the example, a empirical analysis was conducted to the developing direction for downstream industry of returning the cultivated lands to forestry;meanwhile, the developing status quo of downstream industry of returning the cultivated lands to forestry in Ankang city was introduced. In the end, according to the problems existed in choosing of industrial developing direction, some countermeasures were put forward.
