随着世界经济一体化进程的不断推进，来自不同文化背景下的人们交往日益频繁。在这个跨文化交际的过程中，常常会引发误解、碰撞甚至是文化冲突，从而导致交际失败。导致交际失败的原因有很多，其中主要是价值观念的差异。本文聚焦中美不同的隐私观念，从Hofstede集体主义/个人主义维度分析产生不同隐私观念的原因及其各自呈现的特点，进一步探讨中美不同隐私观念的表现及其研究意义。

Along with the procedure the economical globalization speeding up , that people from different cultural background contact with each other is becoming increasingly frequent .During the process of inter-cultural communication , people often are con-fronted with misunderstanding, collision, even conflicts, which inevitably lead to the failure of the communication .As we all know, there are many reasons for that , but the most demanding one is the differentiation of cultural values .The article mainly focuses on the Sino-American different values .The writer not only tries to explore the different reasons and respective characteristics of privacy but also further discuss the expressions and research meaning of it from Hofstede's individualism-collectivism dimension .
