与单幅图像不同,图像集中存在大量的集合冗余,因此如何去除集合冗余以提高图像集的压缩效率是一个很有意义的问题。目前针对图像集中存在的集合冗余已经提出了多种图像集压缩的方案,但是究竟多少幅图像作为一个集合来编码压缩却少有研究。本文主要研究图像集压缩的增益和图像集大小之间的关系,并提出利用图像集相关系数的平均值作为确定图像集大小的依据,进而对图像集进行分组压缩。实验证明,本文所提出的算法可以有效地确定最优的图像集大小,使图像集压缩增益达到最大。

Different from a single image,there is a lot of set redundancy in an image set,therefore how to re-duce the set redundancy to improve the image set compression ratio is an interesting problem.Many set com-pression methods have been proposed in view of the set redundancy in an image set.But how many images should be grouped in a set to form efficient compression schemes is seldom studied.This paper mainly looked into the relationship between image set compression efficiency and the number of images in a set and thus pro-posed a method to determine the number of images grouped in a set on the basis of the mean of image set corre-lation coefficients.The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively determine the op-timal size of the image set to help the image set compression gain reach the maximum.
