As the example for developing torsion test of circular rods from traditional experiment in material mechanical behavior ,the torsion properties of composite material rods are analyzed ,and the experimental results are compared with theoretically computing value .The presented experiment and theoretical analysis can be directly used in teaching experiment courses of material mechanics ,which is a great attempt on the reform of material mechanics experiment ,and is beneficial for students to have better understanding of the course and further improvement in both project practice and scientific research analysis .
