A new mid-season hybrid rice combination, Guangyou 3186, was developed by College of Crop Sciences of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University and Sanming Institute of Agricultural Sciences. It exhibited uniform population, moderate tillering ability, large 1000-grain weight, and better color turn of plant in late stage. Its key high-yielding cultivation techniques included raising robust seedlings under suitable sowing, transplanting sufficient basal seedlings with rational planting density, scientific management of fertilizer and water, and integrated control of pest and disease.
