长江流域产生暴雨的中尺度对流系统(Mesoscale convective systems,MCS)是雨季强降水的重要影响系统,深入研究它的组织结构、活动规律及其发生发展机制,对提高暴雨的预报能力有重大意义。近3年来依托国家自然基金重点项目对中尺度对流系统展开了一系列研究,包括对长江流域产生暴雨的MCS进行组织形态分类、分析了不同线状MCS的结构特征、合成分析了各线状MCS产生的环境条件;我国三阶地形对降水的影响,尤其是山地-平原环流对梅雨锋夜间降水的影响;中尺度地形对对流降水的影响;湿斜压热动力耦合强迫激发MCS发生发展的影响;最后总结了长江流域产生暴雨的MCS的物理概念模型。

The mesoscale convective system producing heavy rainfall is an important system during the rainy season. The research on its organizational structure, activity patterns and the development of mechanisms is of great signiifcance to improve the storm forecasting ability. In the past three years, based on the project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, we have been carrying out a series of studies on MCSs, including organizational model, structure characteristics, environmental conditions, and topographic effects on precipitation, especially the mountain-plain stream and meso-scale terrain. The couping force of wet baroclinic thermal power leads to the development of MCSs. Finally, the physical conceptual model of mesoscale convective systems producing heavy rainfall in the Yangtze River valley is summarized.
