Smart mobile devices, containing different sensor technologies, have been developing rapidly in recent years, with their market share increasing sharply. And they can be used as stand-alone measurement instruments on a wide range of application domains. Here, the evolution of smart mobile devices, including hardware and software developments, is presented. In order to solve the increasing mobile analysis testing requirements, the analysis and determination methods which are available on smart mobile devices, are developed and discussed. Measurements applications of smart mobile devices which combined electrochemical techniques are also reviewed.
