牡丹作为我国特产的重要观赏植物和药用植物而广为人知，并受到人们喜爱。近年来研究发现，牡丹籽的出油率可以达到24.12%~37.83%，籽油的不饱和脂肪酸含量达到83.05%~90.0%，其中亚麻酸含量达到31.56%~66.85%，牡丹籽油具有较高营养价值。因此，牡丹有望成为集观赏、药用和油用为一身的重要经济植物。近年来油用牡丹的发展势头迅猛，但是相关基础研究还非常匮乏，整体上还处于一种盲目发展的状况。因此，开展油用牡丹的资源调查，并在此基础上开展构建高产优质油用牡丹品种体系、完善栽培管理措施等相关研究亟待进行。该文对牡丹的油用价值和应用前景进行了综述和探讨。

Tree peony is a famous traditional ornamental and medical plant in China in the past. Recent studies showed that oil content of tree peony seed was 24.12%~37.83%,unsaturated fatty acid content in the seed oil is about 83.05%~90.0%,linolenic acid content was about 31.56%~66.85%,which indicated that tree peony seed oil was a kind of high nutrition value edible vegetable oil. In this case, tree peony would be an important economic plant with ornamental,medical,and oil applications at the same time. Fundamental researches on oil tree peony are very weak at the present,although the related industries have been developing rapidly and blindly as a whole in the past several years in China. Investigation,collection,selection of oil tree peony germplasm resources,breeding superior clones, and optimization of cultivation management should be the priority research field in the nearly future.
