Whether problems of rib spalling is effectively solved or not is the key to the succuss mining at large mining height working face .Taking 3201 face for example ,the paper had theoretical analysis and numerical sim-ulation study on rib spalling at large mining height working face of soft coal seam ,mastered rib spalling mecha-nism and rip spalling form by field measurements and analysis .Aiming at the problems of rib spalling at 3201 face ,the paper also proposed corresponding control measure ,which laid the foundation of safe and efficient min-ing at face .
