The research situation on techniques for supplementary pollination and mechanized pollination in hybrid rice seed production at home and abroad was introduced,and several methods for artificial supplementary pollination in hybrid rice seed production and their shortcomings were summarized. Combined the current situation of unmanned helicopter used for plant protection in China,the proposals and research approaches for realizing the full-mechanized operation of hybrid rice seed production by using farm-oriented unmanned helicopter in supplementary pollination were brought up.
