The 5 800 kW brushless exciter used in 1 100 MW generator of the Yangjiang nuclear station was the largest one produced in our plant till now. It had its own features of single rectiifer wheel construction, without parallel rings and with a rotor of shorter length but larger outer diameter. The rotor assembly process of the 5 800 kW brushless exciter, key points and dififculties during the pro-cess were introduced as well as improvement of the process technology.
