Reservoir distribution of Shangjia area seriously restricted the fine development of lithologic reservoir. Based on core and logging data, and by comprehensive study on the facies characteristic like facies characteristic, sedimentary structure and parti-cle size distribution, Putaohua oil reservoir in Shangjia area was determined to be fluvial dominated delta deposit and further subdi-vided into six sedimentary microfacies, that is overwater distributary channel, crevasse channel, over-bank sand, underwater dis-tributary channel, inter-distributary bay and sheet sand. Combined with the regional geological background, mode prediction meth-od was used to depict the sedimentary microfacies of this area of Putaohua oil reservoir to know well about the time-space distribu-tion and variation. Meanwhile, the controlling action of sedimentary microfacies to the oil and gas was discussed to draw the conclu-sion that the distributary channel was the best oil-bearing reservoir of this area. The researches provided technical support for the further efficient development of the lithologic deposit in this area.
