脑白质病变(WML)是一组影像学所描述的临床综合征,颅脑CT表现为脑室周围或皮质下区弥漫性低密度影,在磁共振成像(MRI)T2加权像上为弥漫性高信号。WML属于脑小血管病变的一个类型,其发病机制目前仍不明确,也缺乏有效的治疗方法。良好的动物模型是WML研究的基础,本文将从动物类型的选择和造模方法两个角度对WML的动物模型进行综述,通过对脑WML动物模型的研究和对比,为相关研究提供基础性资料。

White matter lesion (WML), which is one type of small vessel diseases, is defined as diffuse white matter abnormalities on computer tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain scans. The mechanisms of WML are still unknown and it lacks of effective therapies. A good model is essential for the experimental research. This article reviewed the research advanced in experimental models of WML in two aspects as the selection of animals and strategies of building model. We aimed to supply related evidence for experimental research in future.
