In this paper, the research progress in quality evaluation methods, wine age judgement, and producing area identification of yeUow rice wine in recent years was reviewed including modem technology such as near-infrared spectroscopy, chromatography （gas chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography）, mass spectrometry, electronic sensory （electronic nose and electronic tongue） ere, Bes4ides, the develop- ment trend and the prospects of these methods were discussed.
