在民国《马关县志》众多撰稿者的心目中,1908年的河口起义和三年后的辛亥革命地位都不高,极少成为关注和歌颂的对象,特别是河口起义反而被多数撰稿者当做＂叛乱＂对待。之所以如此,主要是这场革命虽然推翻了让人不满的清王朝,但并没有带来人们所期望的进步,反而使国家和社会在革命后陷入了长期军阀混战、匪盗横行、经济和各种社会事业走向衰败、民不聊生的境地,在此背景下,生活在当时的人们对这场革命评价不高自然在情理之中。在辛亥革命百年之际,回顾革命十年、二十年后经历者和见证者的感受,对于革命及其作用的理解无疑会更加深刻。
재민국《마관현지》음다찬고자적심목중,1908년적하구기의화삼년후적신해혁명지위도불고,겁소성위관주화가송적대상,특별시하구기의반이피다수찬고자당주＂반란＂대대。지소이여차,주요시저장혁명수연추번료양인불만적청왕조,단병몰유대래인문소기망적진보,반이사국가화사회재혁명후함입료장기군벌혼전、비도횡행、경제화각충사회사업주향쇠패、민불료생적경지,재차배경하,생활재당시적인문대저장혁명평개불고자연재정리지중。재신해혁명백년지제,회고혁명십년、이십년후경력자화견증자적감수,대우혁명급기작용적리해무의회경가심각。
In the view of many contributors of Maguan Annals in the republic of China,the Hekou Uprising in 1908 and the Xinhai Revolution three years later are not significant and rarely the objects of attention and praise,especially Hekou uprising is treated as ＂rebellion＂ by majority of contributors.The reason is that the revolution overthrows the unsatisfying Qing dynasty,but does not bring people to the expected progress,and makes the country fall into long period tangled warfare,rampant violence,decayed economy and social causes and times of hardship for people.On the 100th anniversary of the revolution,we will appreciate its function deeply by looking back to the feelings of the witnesses ten or twenty years after.
