Objective:To study clinical efficacy of relaxation training on patients with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Methods:100 cases of GAD were randomly divided into study group (50 cases) and control group (50 cases), 2 groups of patients were treated with drug therapy and routine nursing, and the study group patients also received additional relaxation training. Hamilton anxiety scale ( HAMA) was used to evaluate the anxiety, and clinical global impression ( CGI) was used to evaluate the clinical effect of the treatment before and after treatment. Results:HAMA and CGI scale scores had no statistical significance between the 2 groups before the treatment (P>0. 05). The HAMA and SSR scale scores had statistically significant difference between the two groups 3 and 6weeks after the treatment (P<0. 05). Conclusions: The relaxation training can significantly improve the anxiety symptoms and the therapeutic effect for the GAD patients.
