In order to reduce car emission as much as possible and to lower down car petroleum consumption, starting from four aspects of ration- ally determining toll lane, pavement structure, longitude road slope and balanced operation speed, the essay discusses methods of realizing highway transportation energy conservation and emission reduction from the angle of main highway design, so as to improve the highway service level.
