通识教育已经逐渐被高校接受，但是对于民办高校来说则是一个全新的事物。如何看待通识教育，如何实施通识教育对于民办高校更是一个全新的挑战。本文分析了通识教育的内涵、本质和实施的现状，对民办高校实施通识教育提出了应对措施。

General education has been gradually accepted by universities, but for private universities, it is a new thing. And it is also a new challenge how to look at general education and how to implement it for private universities. This paper analyzes the general education connotation, essence and the present situation. Thus some measures are put forward for the implementation of general education in private universities.
